Now Use Amazon Echo as an Intercom
« on: May 26, 2018, 11:18:54 AM »
If you have multiple Amazon Echo speakers throughout the house, you can let your family know that the dinner is ready without shouting. Amazon has introduced a new feature that allows you to broadcast a voice message to every Echo in the house.

The feature that Alexa Announced is basically a one-way intercom system that allows you to share the same message with everyone at the same instant as long all are within earshot of a device. It is all meant to make your life easier whether it's about getting ready to leave the house for dinner, cleaning their rooms, or informing the family members about something else.  This feature of Amazon Echo is going to make your life easier provided you have an Echo for every room in your house.

To broadcast any message, start a command by saying "Alexa, tell everyone," "Alexa, announce that," or "Alexa, broadcast" followed by your message. Just like a voicemail, Alexa will deliver your message in your voice. Alexa cannot help you in whether anyone actually listens your message, well or not. This new feature is available across all of Amazon's Echo smart speakers for the users in the U.S. and Canada.

If you find the Alexa Announcements feature similar in functionality, it's because Google introduced the same functionality back in November. So this is head to head fight that will continue.
