Hello Dear…

Your PC can be unresponsive because of one of the following reasons:

•   No Power: PC has a power indicator that glows when it is getting power. On the desktops the front panel of the PC case has LED near the power button. Perform the steps given below to resolve a desktop no-powering situation:

-   Try an unusual wall outlet, and power it on.
-   Now reseat the power cord which is connected to "Power Supply" of the tower and then power the computer on.
-   Now swap the power cord of the Monitor with the computer power cord and power on the PC.

•   No POST: The term POST belongs to Power-On Self-Test which is a series of checks the PC goes through whenever it begins. If the system fails any of these tests, then it will stop the start-up process.

Indications of a failed POST comprise:

-   If the PC is showing the Dell logo and does not move past that point, then it has probably failed POST issue.
-   If the power indicator lights are on and it is amber or orange, this is generally an indication that it has failed POST.
-   If you notice text on a black screen, the PC is currently performing the POST. If the system stays in that condition and does not move past it, then it has probably failed POST problem.
-   If the video display is not showed anything at all during the startup process but is now black, this probably indicates that the PC failed POST.
-   If the PC is beeping or if Caps/Num/Scroll Locks are flashing, see if there is a particular pattern in which it beeps or flashes.

•   No Boot: After the PC finishes the Power-On Self-Test, it will attempt to boot the OS.

-   If the PC advances past the Dell logo screen and then hangs up trying to load the operating system, it is most possible a No Boot issue.

•   No Video: If the power indications are usual but there is never any video seen on the PC’s display during the startup process, this probably indicates a No Video problem.

-   If you have a desktop PC and the monitor has its own power supply, ensure the monitor has a power indicator displaying that it is turned on.
