Most of the people love to shop and now a days, people prefer online shopping because it is more convenient way of purchasing anything. It gives you flexibility to compare the price and quality specifications of the product you are about to buy. There are more varieties to choose from as there are more online stores that you can access with just a few clicks of mouse. People are preferring online shopping instead of going to shops and malls because they can not only save their time, but also can avail the great offers and deals.

There are many websites from where you can shop all the things of your need while sitting at home. Online shopping is easy and helpful, but sometimes, you may get confused after seeing so many options (e.g. colors, size, pattern, etc.)and great deals. Online shopping is easy and helpful, but if your experience is not good, it may suddenly change your perception. You need to be careful while shopping online because if there are advantages of online shopping, there are disadvantages too. So here is a list of Do’s and Don’ts which will prove helpful while shopping online.

Do’s while shopping online:

1)Know on which website you are:You need to be very careful if you are a person who use search engine to find you need. You must be knowing which legitimate website is and which is not. Hackers try to hack legitimate websites also. They use the similar name, themes, and design to make the user belief that they are at the right website. In most of the cases users think that they are the registered seller so they make purchase and ultimately get the poor product. Online shoppers need to be very attentive before making any purchase. They need to always check if the site is legitimate. To verify that, they should check the about section of the seller if they have some certification from the government.

2)Shop on your personal computers: You should not shop from a public computer as in that matter you have to put your personal information on the public computer and from that computer, anyone can hack and collect your details and personal data. If a public computer doesn’t have any security options, never buy anything from that. Public networks are very fragile and hackers can easily get access to them and collect the information stored on PC connected to the public network.

3)Verify that the site is secure:You must see the “https” in the address bar before buying anything. Also, make sure that a website should have the tiny padlock icon. The site is not legitimate without government certification, it is a must.

4)Do provide only necessary information: Online shoppers need to know which information is legit to give while making any purchase. Name, Address, Phone number are few details that are necessary. Make sure that you provide proper information while ordering through online, but it is not considered legit to provide the very personal information i.e. Pan Card number, driving license number.

5)Do install proper Internet Security Suite:To protect your wireless information from hackers, you should have to have internet security suite on your computer. It doesn’t only protect your important data, but also protects you from viruses, Trojans, etc.

Don’t while shopping from the website:

1) Don’t make any payment with Credit Card or Debit Card: If you don’t have Internet Security Suite, don’t pay with Credit Card or Debit Card. In that case, choose cash on delivery (COD) option. When buying online, cash on delivery is the best payment option you can get the advantage of.

2) Don’t buy immediately: Before making the decision of purchase, compare the product on different websites. Don’t just fall for the offer which is very lucrative and imaginary for that product. Think twice before buying anything. Read the customer’s reviews to find if it is the genuine product.

3)Don’t believe everything you see and read:If you see lots of attractive deals and hard to believe offers, don’t just fall for all of them. In most of the cases, most of them are fake and are made to attract shoppers and trap them. Before buying anything, it is always best to check for the authenticity of the product and its price. Wit is not always true whatever you see and read online.

4) Don’t leave you credit card or debit card details: Most of the online shoppers make this silly but grave mistake. They leave their credit card details on the seller website without releasing that how risky it can be for them. If hacker is able of hacking your account successfully, you can lose all your money in your account.

5) Don’t use your business or personal email while making online transaction: It is never a great idea of using your personal email. You can still check the offers and promotional codes online retailers offer without overloading your email inbox from retailer’s email.
