New TV app for iPhone, iPod and Apple TV

Apple launched the new TV app, providing a fabulous experience for discovering and accessing TV shows and movies from numerous apps on Apple TV, iPhone and iPod. The TV app offers one place to access TV shows and pictures, as well as a place to learn new content to see. Up Next: Users can delight in the shows and movies they are currently viewing, including latest iTunes rentals and purchases, all displayed in the order they are most likely to view first. For instance, when the viewer’s finish a program episode, the next one will simply appear at the start of the next queue. At any time, viewers can simply ask Siri to resume watching a show and instantly pick up where they left off.
 
Watch Now: Watch now is where users will see their gathering of available shows and movies from apps and iTunes. From Watch Now, users can then go to Up Next or recommended ones to choose what to watch.

Recommended: Users can explore a great collection of trending and curated shows and movies, including best collections selected by Apple’s curators, and dedicated categories and types such as kids, sci-fi and comedy.

Store: If users are searching for something latest, they can check out the Store to see great new content across video services that they have not yet copied or are not yet subscribed to, along with the newest releases on iTunes.

Library: Users can access their full collection of iTunes movies and TV shows that they have borrowed or bought on iTunes.
The TV app will be accessible for Apple TV, iPhone and iPod and always stays in sync so that when users begin viewing on one device they can easily continue where they left off on their Apple gadgets.

Single Sign-On for Pay-Tv Apps

In addition to the new TV app, users in the US will have an easy way of watching their pay-tv video apps by using single sign-on. Beginning in December, subscribers to DISH Network, DIRECTV, and more will just sign in once on Apple TV, iPhone and iPod to get immediate access to apps that are included in their pay-tv subscription.
